My Story

I am a lifelong Oswegoland resident, and grew up in the house right next door to mine. My wife, Ann, and I have been married since 1992, and we have been blessed with two great children.    After graduating from Oswego High School in 1985, I attended Waubonsee Community College. While at Waubonsee, I worked 4 jobs to save enough money to attend the University of Illinois. On any given day, I might have worked at Alexander Lumber, Marcley’s Gas Station, the Oswego Public Library or the Oswego Greenhouse. Two years, and two Associates Degrees later, I was accepted at the U of I. In 1989, I graduated with honors and a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration.

I believe in giving back to the community where my family has lived for generations. In the past, I was a member of the Oswegoland Optimist Club, Big Brother-Big Sister Advisory Council, and Waubonsee Community College Alumni Association.  I’ve also worked as the Chairman of the Paramount Arts Centre Advisory Board, Help Replant the Fox Riverbanks, and the Local Finance Committee for Boy Scouts of America.

I consider myself a common sense leader who has served the community as Village President since 2007, and as Village Trustee from 2005 to 2007. The night I was sworn in as a Village Trustee, I promised that I would keep you in mind every time I voted. I’ve kept that promise as Village President, and will continue to do so.
